Ребят, привет! У меня на днях назрел такой вопрос: Что нужно сделать, чтобы 3DG дали концерт в России. То, блин, даже обидно: в Бразилию приезжали, а в Россию не могут :(. Я сам из Беларуси (было бы хорошо, чтоб они про такую страну хотя бы слышали), но ради 3DG я бы и в Россию бы съездил. К тому же у меня в Питере родные. Как думаете: можно чё-нибуть сделать?

Thanks to Lisa and Jared from Wind Up Records, Swanktrendz was couriered tickets for Vancouver’s sold-out Econoline Crush, Seether and Three Days Grace show on February 1st.
I arrived at the Commodore Ballroom just after Econoline Crush’s set ended. (Sorry E.C. this was not a planned boycott, but an overlooked time schedule made by yours truly...)
The Commodore Ballroom’s venue was promptly sold-out and thus, jam-packed. (The venue was sold-out for both Feb 1st & Feb 2nd.) As for the crowd... well, they were an article in itself.
Crowd Observances: the ratio of male to female was 3:1 (which generally bodes well for bands’ staying power as Lezah and I have observed.) This crowd was definitely your beer-swigging, jeans and a t-shirt (no stylin’ punks here) manly-men. However, it was these men's unabashed appreciation for the performers that grabbed my attention.
I have attended hundreds of concerts. Prior to writing, I generally look for something out of the ordinary before tackling my review (to give it a more personal approach). For this concert, the out-of-the-ordinary observation was handed to me on a platter.
I have never (emphasis on never) seen an audience so appreciative of, and vocally involved with, as I did with Seether's’ and Three Days Grace’s audience.
This audience sang along, loudly - albeit not badly - to all of the songs up until the last dying chords of Three Days Grace’s set. The audience sang loud (and clear enough that both Shaun from Seether, and Adam from 3DG, often didn’t have to sing entire verses during their songs.)
It was incredible, and I felt I was privy to a male-bonding workshop (anticipating the group to break out in Kumbayah at any given moment.)
In watching how uninhibited these fellows were while belting out lyrics, it was obvious that the fans had connected with the bands, and their lyrics, on a more meaningful level. The songs meant something in the audiences singers’ lives.
Perhaps it was the intimate environment of The Commodore that allowed the fans to fervently get caught up in the music? I wish another concert go'er would step forward and confirm my observations, as I am beginning to question what I saw.
When Seether stepped onto the stage, Shaun Morgan’s voice sounded clear and controlled. Earlier, I had been listening to Vancouver’s radio station, The Fox and Shaun Morgan was a guest, singing an acoustic selection. After noting how good his voice sounded on radio, I was relieved to discover it sounded twice as good, live.
As I have mentioned before, I am a lyricist and anyone who write lyrics like:
Before you hedge those bets you placed against me Be reticent of fortunes they foretell Your verbal defecation i can't wash away despite myself Your vanity, it seems, has served you well
deserves our appreciation. Perhaps the sombreness of Shaun Morgan’s lyrics explain Shaun as a performer.
Tried (with difficulty) to get a picture of drummer, John Humphrey after giving of his time when interviewed by Shane Christensen of Swanktrendz
As a frontman, Shaun appears embarrassed almost apologetic within his starring role. He is obviously comfortable enough to write and arrange the music; just not to deliver it. I haven’t any idea as to the size of Shaun’s performer’s ego, but after watching him perform, I’d venture out onto a quasi psychological limb and state he doesn’t believe he’s deserving of the crowd’s adoration.
Also, Shaun is as stingy with his smiles as Kurt Cobain was back in the day. The tortured/ artist persona was making me feel uncomfortable and I am sure both I and Shaun relaxed when Shaun invited Barry and Adam from Threes Days Grace to accompany him singing Broken.
When Seether concluded their set, I was reminded of the entire Peal Jam and Nirvana Seattle vibe. Seether would have been right at home in 1992. Nonetheless, Seether gave us a terrific, yet physically subdued set.
Three Days Grace bounded onto the stage, full of energy and humour, and the ‘Kumbayah Crowd’ eagerly picked up their singing pace. 3DG launched into hit after hit, working the fans into frenzied ecstasy.
Between the audience vocal participation, the endless spring bouncing/pogo'ing on the Commodore’s renowned dance floor, and beer being spilled on us left and right, Kristen Kyd (my every alert photographer) and I left bouncing, laughing, singing and reeking of beer into the night. We left hot, sweaty and content - it felt as though this had been a private performance given at a local basement party.

Sound: Well, first of all, I'll say I like Three Days Grace a lot, but in this review I'll try to be as objective as possible. I personally think Three Days Grace is awesome. Anyway, I've always known they aren't very good live. Adam Gontier seems to be a very good vocalist, but when it comes to singing live, he doesn't sound as good as you would expect from what you hear in the CDs; some say it is because he can't really sing, others say it is because he somkes and others say it is because he pulls his voice to the limit at the start and he's very tired at the end. I really don't know why but, whichever the reason may be, the truth is that he isn't very good live. The other musicians in the band (Barry Stock, Neil Sanderson and Brad Walst) are great live, so the only "problem" live would be the vocals.
Anyway, in this DVD Adam proves that he can sing very well! Not only very well, but in some songs even better than in the studio. So for all of us who though he couldn't sing live, this is a shut-your-mouth concert. Adam reaches every note, and does every scream on every song, and it sounds awesome, he does an awesome job at this concert. So the whole DVD becomes a very pleasant experience to watch and to listen. I really enjoyed every song on this Live DVD. // 10
Content: This DVD contains a live performance of Three Days Grace on March 21, 2008 at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan. It also includes exclusive behind-the-scene footage featuring members of the band. The songs included in the DVD are:
1.Animal I Have Become: nice song to start, the bass and drums intro really turns up the crowd. The instrumental apartment was awesome. The vocals were awesome too. Adam interacted a lot with the crowd, who sang along with him almost the whole song. 2.Pain: cool song, nice vocals and nice music, but what's more interesting here are Neil's backing vocals. You know, he's a drummer, so it's not that easy to sing while he's playing, but he does it very well and adds that final touch to the vocals department that make this song special. Also the scream at the end is very cool and perfectly performed by Adam. 3.Just Like You: these song is totally badass, Adam introduces it saying -"This song's about being told how to live your life, and being told what you're supposed to do with your life, until you've had(not sure about had) enough for yourself in the end and you say: f--k you! I'll live my life the way I want to." It goes all good, nice vocals and a crazy crowd-surfer. 4.Let It Die: Adam starts kinda weak-sounding, but he fixes it inmediately and the song continues to go up and up. 5.Wake Up: the clean electric guitar doesn't sound as deep as the acoustic guitar on the original song, but it's well performed by Barry. At this song, I noticed that you can barely hear Adam's guitar. Some mistakes here and there by Brad I think, but I can't really tell. 6.I Hate Everything About You: this song has a powerfull bass, again perfectly performed by Bead, here you can hear better both guitars and Adam's voice is still shinning and sounding cool. He lets the crowd sing a whole chorus, and the crowd responds very well. 7.Rooster (Alice In Chains cover): I'll be honest, I like Alice in Chains, but I've never heard this song before. Adam appears seated with his acoustic guitar and introduces the song to the crowd. After listening to the original song, I think Adam made a simple, yet amazing cover. He makes it almost sound like he wrote it himself. This cover is softer than the original song, but I think it is also deeper, it really touches you. 8.Riot: it starts with a badass drums intro, followed by a badass guitar intro, and then the song starts as it is. Backing vocals are kinda lame in this song, but that's just my opinion. Vocals are well performed, but in this song what really shines is the guitar, at the bridge of the song, you can see Barry doing his part from upside the fretboard; this part is where the special effects (lights and fire) go crazy, and so does the crowd. Then comes the chorus/outro, at the end Adam screams amazingly the last "Lets' start a riot" and the outro goes extremely cool with Brad, Neil and Barry going crazy and Adam "shooting" people with his guitar. 9.Get Out Alive: well, it starts very calmed, and it goes like that untill the middle of the song when the volume goes up and the drums start out loud. Althought I like this song a lot, it is not a very impressive song for a live show. But the vocals go all good, and the backing vocals are awesome in this song. 10.Never Too Late: obviously this song means a lot to Adam, and he shows that when he introduces this song. Like I said on Wake Up, the clean electric guitar doesn't sound as deep as the acoustic guitar, but it still sounds good. The crowd seems to love the song as they sing every part of it. Pefect Performance. 11.Scared: It starts very cool, the bass sounds powerfull, the drums are loud, but the guitar has some mistakes here and there. Vocals are good, he focuses more on turning the people on instead of singing the song prefectly. At the middle, they extended the bridge to play around with the crowd; the lights go down, Adam grabs a reflector and he starts pointing it to the crowd so they start "making some noise". The end is very ass-kicking. 12.Gone Forever: no intro, it just starts with the vocals, but it starts right and in tune. Other than that, perfect performance, but that's it. 13.Home (Includes part of Hey Man, Nice Shot by Filter): nice intro, kinda creepy & cool at the same time, but they always do it live. I've heard this song live before, and it always used to get messed up at the vocals, but here the vocals were just awesome. The crowd went crazy with this song, lots of crowd surfers. Then at the middle of the song they start Hey Man, Nice Shot, it goes fused with Home as a bridge. I personally think TDG's version is better than Filter's. But that's just an opinion. Then it comes back to Home with Adam screaming "I'm better off alone!" and Home keeps going and it ends with Adam screamig and everybody going crazy.
And that's all the concert. It was pretty awesome. Wish I was there. // 9
Production Quality: I don't know a lot about production, but if a live DVD can keep me watchig without getting bored, I'd say it's well preoduced. And since I never get bored with this DVD, no matter how many times I watch it, I'll say it is wery well produced. Nice camera angles, nice changes of cameras, everything was nice. // 10
Impression: I think this was a very good performance and a very enjoyable DVD. I can watch it over and over without getting bored. I like Three Days Grace very much, and I felt very disappointed when I saw some videos at Youtube of them live, but with this DVD I feel very happy and relieved that they give awesome live performances now. It is a must-watch for every TDG fan. And even if you are not a fan I'm sure you'll enjoy it. // 10
Звучание: Ну, сперва я хочу сказать что очень люблю TDG, но в своем обзоре постараюсь быть объективным насколько это возможно. Лично я думаю что TDG потрясающие. Как бы то ни было, я всегда знал что вживую они не так хороши. Адам Гонтьер вроде бы хороший вокалист, но когда ему приходится выступать вживую, он поет не так хорошо как ты ожидаешь, думая что его голос такой же как на CD; кто-то говорит что всё это потому что он вовсе не умеет петь, другие- что это из-за курения, и третьи говорять, что Адам срывает голос в самом начале из-за чего не может петь в полную силу в конце. Я сам точно не знаю почему, правда остается правдой: он не очень хорошо поет вживую. Другие участники группы (Barry Stock, Neil Sanderson и Brad Walst) справляются великолепно, так что единственная "проблема" на концерте - вокал.
В любом случае, на этом DVD Адам доказывает что может петь очень хорошо! Не просто очень хорошо, но в некоторых песнях он поёт даже лучше чем в студии. Так что для тех из нас кто думал что он не умеет петь вживую это концерт, затыкающий всех недовольных. Адам вытягивает каждую ноту, и справляется с каждым криком в любой песне, и это звучит потрясающе, он проделал умопомрачительную работу на этом концерте. Поэтому просмотр всего DVD принесет вам массу удовольствия. Я насладился каждой песней с этого DVD. //10

Качество издания: Я не особо осведомлен в этом деле, но если DVD с концертом не заставляет меня скучать, я скажу что тут все в порядке. И раз уж я ни разу не скучал при просмотре этго DVD, сколько бы раз я его не смотрел, я скажу что он отлично срежиссирован. Хорошие ракурсы, монтаж, все на высшем уровне.//10
Впечатление: Я думаю это отличное выступление и прекрасный DVD. Я могу пересматривать его снова и снова. Я очень люблю TDG, и я был очень разочарован, кога увидел на Ютубе видео с этого концерта, но с этим DVD я счастлив и мне гораздо легче когда я знаю, что сейчас они классно выступают вживую. Это выступление должен увидеть каждый фан TDG. И даже если вы себя не причисляете к их числу, я уверен, вам понравится.//10 ___________________________________________________________________________________ вооооооооот ну в принципе чувак вполне адекватный, я почти со всем согласен

1.Animal I Have Become: отличная песня чтобы начать концерт, ударные и басы во вступлении реально заводят толпу. Инструментальное исполнение - это что-то... Вокал тоже был великолепен. Адам много взаимодействует с толпой, которая подпевает практически в течение всей песни.
2.Pain: классная песня, хорошие вокал и музыка, но что более интересно здесь, так это бэк-вокал Нила. Знаете, он ведь барабанщик, так что не так-то просто петь во время игры, но у него классно получается и это отлично дополняет вокал Адама, что делает эту песню особенной. Также финальный крик был очень круто исполнен Адамом.
3.Just Like You: это абсолютно хулигаская песня, представляя ее Адам говорит: "Эта песня о том когда вам диктуют как вам жить вашу жизнь и что вы должны делать со своей жизнью, до тех пор пока вы наконец не сорветесь и не скажете: пшел нах! я буду жить так как этого хочу." Исполнение очень хорошее, отличный вокал и сумасшедший чувак, прыгнувший в толпу.
4.Let it die: Адам начинает петь как-то слабозвучно, но он немедленно исправляет это и песня звучит лучше и лучше.
5.Wake up: электрогитара не звучит так глубоко как аккустическая в оригинальной песне, но Барри отлично сыграл. В этой песне я заметил, что слышно только гитару Адама. Заметил несколько ошибок Брэда, кажется, но точно сказать не могу.
6.I Hate Everything About You: у этой песни очень сильные басы, снова Брэда безупречно отыграл, здесь лучше слышно обе гитары, а голос Адама все еще сияет и звучит клёво. Он дает толпе пропеть весь припев и толпа отлично справляется.
7.Rooster (Alice In Chains cover): Буду честным, мне нравится Alice in Chains, но я никогда прежде не слышал эту песню. Адам предстает сидящим с аккустической гитарой и исполняет песню. Полсе того как я послушал оригинал, я думаю что Адам сделал просто удивительный кавер. Он поет так, будто каждый звук написал сам. Этот кавер звучит мягче чем оригинальная песня, но я думаю, он глубже, и он действительно берет за душу.
8.Riot: начинается с хулиганского барабанного вступления, и лишь затем начинается сама песня. Бэк-вокал в этой песне хромает, но это просто мое мнение. Вокал хорош, но что действительно рулит в этой песне так это гитара, во время проигрыша Барри играет с края сцены; эта часть со спецэффектами (свет и огонь) просто сносит крышу толпе. Когда песня подходит к концу, Адам кричит просто удивительно последнее "Lets' start a riot" и аутро особенно хорошо исполнено Брэдом, Нилом и Барии, которые просто сходят с ума и Адам "стреляет" в зал своей гитарой.
9.Get Out Alive: начинается очень спокойно, и так продолжается до середины песни, когда звук нарастает и громко врываются ударные. Хоть эта песня мне очень нравится, она не совсем подходит для живого выступления. Но вокал был хорош, а бэк-вокал был потрясен в этой песне.
10.Never too late: очевидно, эта песня для Адама очень много значит и он показывает это, представляя эту песню. Как я уже сказал про Wake Up, электрогитара не звучит так глубоко как аккустическая, но все же звучит неплохо. Похоже зал любит песню и поет каждое слово. Идеальное выступление.
11.Scared: Начинается очень круто, басы звучат сильно, ударные громки, но гитарами здесь были допущены ошибки. Вокал хорош, Адам сконцентрровался больше на том чтобы завести хрителей, чем на безупречном исполнении песни. В середине они растянули проигрыш для того чтобы поиграть с толпой; приглушили свет, Адам берет прожектор и начинает указывать на часть толпы, так что они начинали шуметь. Концовка была офигенной.
12.Gone Forever: нет вступления, песня начинается сразу с вокала, но начинается она в правильном тоне. Кроме того, само исполнение было идеальным.
13.Home (Includes part of Hey Man, Nice Shot by Filter): хорошее начало, одновременно жуткое и классное, но они всегда его включают в свои концерты. Я и раньше слышал эту песню вживую, и в ней всегда были проблемы с вокалом, но в этот раз вокал был отличным. Толпа сходит с ума от этой песни, многие из зала пострадали. Потом в середине песни они начинают Hey Man, Nice Shot, она идет как одно целое с Home как прогирыш. Лично я думаю что TDG исполнили песню лчше чем Filter. Но это просто точка зрения. Когда песня переходит обратно на Home, Адам кричит "I'm better off alone!" и Home продолжается, а когда Адам заканчивает кричать все сходят с ума.

Three Days Grace Review
Release Date: July 22, 2003 The DVD is a nice addition, as it features all three of their current music videos, with making-of features (Raab Himself, of "Jackass" fame even shows up during the "Just Like You" shoot) and plenty of live footage, the highlight of which being their acoustic set for Rolling Stone.

Sound: I really like Three Days Grace and I was happy to hear they made a DVD. They released it in late 2004 and I got it in march 0f 2005. They band is has a really original sound and I really liked their CD and this DVD is a must for the collector. A very good original band. // 9
Content: The DVD has a lot of content on it. It has all three of their music vdeos from their debut album from 2003. The videos are "(I Hate) Everything About You," "Just Like You," and "Home." It also has a lot of live footage from concerts in Brazil. It has acousticall versions of a few of their songs, "Drown," "Just Like You," "Wake Up" and "(I Hate) Everything About You." It has behind-the-scenes footage of their video sets and a bit of them just dinkin around in the bus. This DVD also had a unreleased track called "Are You Ready" which was cool because it gives you a bit of a preview of what some of their new stuff will sound like. // 10
Production Quality: The quality of this DVD was pretty good. They had background music playing all the time and the menu was very easy to use and identify. The only sour part was some of the parts where the band was just screwin around. The footage was a little choppy at parts and the sound was sometimes off but that because it was all done on cam corder so it's understandable. // 8
Impression: I'm a loyal 3DG fan and I like the way they put this together. The highlight was probably seeing the whole video for "(I Hate) Everything About You." I had never seen the whole video in its entirety and I am glad I did. I love it that from what I see, we have a good Canadian band that will stay around for a long time. // 10

Звук: По правде говоря, мне нравятся Three Days Grace и я был счастлив узнав что они выпустили DVD. Диск был выпущен в конце 2004го, а я заполучил его в марте 2005го. По звучанию группа десйтвительно не похожа ни на одну другую и мне очень понравился их CD, а этот DVD - фанатам обязателен к приобретению. Отличная оригинальная группа. // 9
Содержание: DVD содержит большое количество контента. На нем все три клипа TDG с их дебютного альбома 2003 года. Клипы такие: ''(I Hate) Everything About You'', ''Just Like You'', и ''Home''. На диске также есть видео живых выступлений с концертов в Бразилии. Еще есть аккустические версии нескольких их песен: ''Drown'', ''JustLike You'', ''Wake Up'' и "(I Hate) Everything About You." На этом супер-вместительном диске есть закулисное видео и интервью в автобусе. Этот диск содержит еще и невыпущенный трэк названный ''Are You Ready'', очень крутой, потому что он дает представление о том как будет звучать их новый альбом. // 10
Качество продукции: Качество этого DVD было довольно хорошим. В течение всего видео в фоне играет музыка, а меню - простое в освоении и испльзовании. Есть только один плохой момент где они облажались. Во время выступления звук иногда пропадал, но это объясняется тем что все записано на корявую камеру, что в общем-то понятно. // 8
Впечатление: Я - лояльный фанат TDG и мне нравится то как они объединили это на одном диске. Самые яркие впечатления остались от просмотра клипа на песню "(I Hate) Everything About You". Я никогда не видел видео целиком и я рад что наконец сделал это. Мне понравилось это, и, насколько я понял, у нас появилась отличная канадская группа, которая будет нас радовать еще оооооооооооооочень долго. //10
Concert Review: Three Days Grace at the Asphodel - Norwood Community Centre

There's local boys done good, and then there's Three Days Grace. With two members hailing from Norwood, Ontario, and one from just down the road in Peterborough one of hard rock's most successful bands played a benefit concert to help complete the construction of the very facility in which they performing.
As I parked a good ten or fifteen minute hike down the road from the arena I began to get an idea of the scale of the event about to take place in the tiny town. This was a village of 1300 that had sold out a 2000 seat arena! An hour before the doors were to open the line snaked around the parking lot and steadily grew and spread onto the adjacent fair grounds as I strolled around snapping photos.
I didn't relish the idea of joining the end of the line which probably stretched to somewhere near the downtown strip. Luck would have it that my media contact came outside to find me and escorted me into the building just before the doors opened.
The excitement was palpable among the concert goers as they staked out their spots either in the small seating section on the north side of the rink or on the floor in front of the stage. This was a diverse crowd with kids, teens, adults, and even the elderly represented. Security and production crews had been brought in from Toronto and my trip into the photo pit had me recognizing the fantastic enforcers I often work with at the Kool Haus and other T.O venues.
The opening act, My Darkest Days, also has Norwood roots and have been steadily heading in an upward trajectory. I'd seen the once before about a year and a half ago and at that time wasn't tremendously impressed. Those 18 months have worked wonders. Hook laden rocker after hook laden rocker was belted out before the hometown crowd and for 40 minutes My Darkest Days had the crowd eating out of their hand. Watch for big things from these four guys real soon.
A little before 9:30 Three Days Grace launched into their #1 hit Animal and the 2000+ lucky attendees went simply nuts. Hit after hit followed with the crowd singing along and threatening to over power the band. This being a homecoming I was hoping for more audience interaction from lead singer Adam Gontier and maybe some anecdotes about growing up in Norwood. Instead it was pretty much a straight ahead TDG show with little between song banter and uncomfortable pauses between songs. Adam does do an amazing unaccompanied acoustic version of Alice in Chains "The Rooster". I dig their music but have yet to be thrilled by TDG live, but my hats off to them for doing this benefit concert in their hometown.
The Norwood Lions Club had committed to raising $325,000 for the construction of the hockey rink/community centre in the sleepy village in Central Ontario. With attendance at the sold out concert approaching 2100 the Lions Club is assured of surpassing that goal. Norwood can also be proud that TDG still call Norwood home.

Three Days Grace Secret Show
So last night I attended the exclusive 3DG show at a secret location, no big deal.
The purpose of the show was to get the word out about their new album coming soon, and kick off their nation-wide tour. The small venue (The Sony Soundstage on Polson St., near Sound Academy in Toronto) and crowd of about 150 people made the show nice and intimate. Anybody in the crowd had the chance to get up close and shake hands or get pics with the entire band. I even managed to get autographs from all 4 of them on my pass (which my girlfriend promptly stole).
The band opened up with a song from their new album "Life Starts Now", broadcasting LIVE in front of us, on 80 stations across the nation. After a few more songs, they all sat down with Alan Cross for some nice Q&A time. They talked about the making of their album, industrial accidents, the meaning of their new songs, and the lighter side of life these days.
Following their talk, 3DG ended off the show with a few more songs which had the entire crowd jumping and singing/screaming along. The band was very high energy and got nice and personal with the crowd. I'll definitely be going to their show again when they come back in a couple months.

короче чувак рассказывает как он побывал на этом концерте в каком то тайном месте, что там было человек 150, и был шанс получить афтограф и пожать руку, этот чувак получал офтограф от всех участников группы, потом они сели с каким то аланом и обсуждали их новый альбом. и еще просит прощения за фото, это всё что было у него на телефоне

Three Days Grace played a private concert today at the PC Richard & Son Theater in Tribeca (NYC) for contest winners and press. The event was sponsored by IHeartRadio.com (mobile software that allows you to listen to listen to over 350 radio stations on your iPhone or Blackberry). The band played a short set: “The Good Life,” “The Chain” (Fleetwood Mac cover), “Riot,” “Never Too Late,” and the first single off of the band’s new album Life Starts Now, “Break.” Frontman Adam Gontier revealed that the band had recorded the Fleetwood Mac classic “The Chain” for their new album Life Starts Now but it didn’t end up making the final cut.
